Last nZEB Days event in Bulgaria took place on 31 – 2 June in Burgas under the title ‘ZERO-ENERGY BUILDINGS: THE FUTURE IS NOW’ The first day of the national conference was dedicated to knowledge, skills and competences for zero-energy buildings, with the latest information about current training schemes and educational opportunities, and discussion sessions on developing a system for continuing professional development. As always, there was a specialized expo and demonstrations and company presentations of the latest building materials, products and technologies. Featured on the agenda were also: |

10 – 13 May 2023, Timisoara, Romania
The pRO-nZEB Cluster together with INCD URBAN-INCERC, and in partnership with the PORTIC Association team as co-organizer, Timisoara City Hall and Polytechnic University of Timisoara, helped the nZEB Week event in Timișoara, that took place in Iancu Huniade Square, from 10 to 13 May 2023. The event brought together more than 50 experts in the fields of building and energy efficiency, suppliers of solutions and technologies for building with high energy performance, academia, local public authorities, real estate developers, students, young people, children and the general public in a marathon of |
activities designed to facilitate a better understanding of the requirements for energy performance of buildings and to prepare both the

21-23 April 2023, Sofia
For the 8th nZEB event, the aim was to also reach non-specialists, going to a popular shopping destination - one of the biggest malls in Sofia. Given the International Earth Day, it made sense to carry out the event on the weekend so that more people can join in such an initiative raising awareness about EE and nZEBs. All available mock-ups, equipment and sets developed during the project were available for participants to learn and experience first-hand the benefits of sustainable construction practices, materials, and the necessary skills.
There were dedicated lectures for both construction specialists and non-specialists. A total of 250 people attended for the whole period. In July 2023, the event was awarded the second prize of the Annual “b2b media awards” for best educational initiative!

29 March – 1 April 2023, Sofia, Bulgaria
nZEB Days event in Bulgaria took part at the Bulgarian Architecture and Construction Week in Inter Expo Center, Sofia on 29th March - 1st April. During one of the biggest product exhibitions, visitors were able to visit ready nZEB Caravan! 23-24 February 2023, Pergine Valsugana at Primary School “Senesi”, Italy
The next Italian Roadshow was organized in the framework of a project with a Primary School in Pergine Valsugana where a series of lectures about climate change and energy efficiency and gamification activities took place.
Pupils with an age of 10 showed themselves as very proactive and enthusiastic while listening to the lectures, watching a video about climate change, reading the nZEBO Book translated into Italian and playing with the gamification tools that had been created, including a portable version of the bags throwing game which had already been successfully presented at the construction fairs.

10 – 12 November 2022, Zagreb – Zagreb Fair, Croatia
The NZEB mobile house MUZA and NZEB Roadshow project were part of the 27th University of Zagreb Fair for students. This annual educational event was held at the Zagreb Fair and aimed at high school graduates, university students and all other interested parties. Prospective students could gather information about study programmes, the faculties' achievements in fields of science and technical equipment, curricula, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study programmes, creative career opportunities, new opportunities offered by private entrepreneurs and companies, student accommodation in Zagreb, student life and many other interesting details.
MUZA represented the Faculty of Civil Engineering with the main goal of promoting the profession of civil engineering and bringing modern construction closer to high school students, undergraduates and anyone interested. 8-11 November 2022, Rimini at Ecomondo Fair, Italy
The next Italian Roadshow took place in Rimini at Ecomondo/KeyEnergy construction fair, where ZEPHIR organized the 8th Italian Passivhaus Conference in November 2022 as opening ceremony of the fair.
Around 170 people attended the conference, mostly designers and stakeholder of the construction sector, who followed it with high interest until the end. The different panels spanned from different building standards such as nZEB, Passivhaus, GBC Italia, to the actual Italian market situation. Politicians and people from public institutions (e.g. National Energy Agency) as well as international speakers were invited (among others, the Croatian partner led by Prof. Dr. Bojan Milovanović).

The nZEB Days in Kalamata, Greece took place at the Philharmonic Hall. The rich program had something to offer to engineers, craftsmen. elementary and high school students, with opportunities to learn more about energy saving and the multiple benefits of having a passive home. The four-day fair and three-day conference addressed current and future issues relevant to all stakeholders in the construction sector - from buyers to contractors, engineers to workers, investors to managers and insurers, lay people to professionals, the real sector and civil society to the institutional sector and public administration. In cooperation with the company Aluplast, MUZA was located inside the Sports hall Arena Zagreb. 29-30 September, 6-7 October 2022, Forli, Italy
The 4th live Italian Roadshow was organized as a nZEB Week at Poletti headquarters in Forlì, a window manufacturer specialized in low-energy buildings such as nZEB and Passivhaus (Figure 104). The 4-day workshop dealt with nZEB and Passivhaus pillars, window installation and thermal bridges, economic viability of energy efficiency measures and exercises for the promotion of low-energy building standards.
In order to give a better and practical insight of the theoretical concepts which constitute the basis of a nZEB and Passivhaus building, a small scaled sample building was indeed realized. All course participants could then experience the learnt concepts by applying them onto a real wooden house. At the end of the practical measures undertaken on the building, a Blower-Door Test was performed and a thermal imaging camera was used to detect residual leakages through the airtight envelope

The autumn nZEB Days in Bulgaria took place at the largest interactive event in architecture and construction - The Leaders Who Build! The event featured discussion panels and workshops, and participants could visit over 30 interactive stations and meet representatives from the most active firms in the construction sector. EnEffect's team shared a stand with D1.Construction - a forthcoming construction firm, at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy! In cooperation with one of the world's largest manufacturers of window and door systems, the company Aluplast, we prepared a one-day special event. The event was aimed at professionals from the ever-evolving window industry, and MUZA with its carefully designed and construction transparent openings was in focus. 07–09 July, Aegina, Greece
The first island of the roadshow was visited in July by EIPAK, in collaboration with the Union of Greek Physicists , as part of the European nZEB Roadshow program.
From July 7 to 9 , EIPAK executives were in Aegina with presentations and workshops for the general public and industry professionals, as well as with presentations, games and comic books for young and old.
There was a visit to a passive house, to see up close how it works and to talk with its occupants.
All the events were conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Bank of Greece and aimed for experts and the general public to get to know the Near Zero Energy Buildings and the Passive Building model.

With the forthcoming warm season, in 2022 it was decided to host the third live Roadshow event in Italy at a very popular construction fair, the Klimahouse exhibition in Bolzano. Historically, thousands of visitors used to attend the exhibition, mostly designers and stakeholders in the construction sector. However, this was the first time after the pandemics that so many people could gather together again to a big event, so concerns about the attendance in-presence were more than justified: despite the concerns, people still decided to attend the exhibition. Even with reduced visitors’ number, the foreseen expectations were in fact met: 2/3 of the people visiting the ZEPHIR’s stand were active professionals, 20% young students and the rest split between users of training and end users.

Due to a good relationship with the City Hall of Brasov the nZEB Caravan benefited from a central location in the heart of the old town of Brasov - Sf. Ioan Square. The nZEB Brasov week was the first event in this series that allowed less restricted interactions between organizers, partners and participants, thus allowing an organic growth for subsequent events.

The rich agenda featured numerous presentations with Q&A sessions, introductory course in nZEB concept, regulations and application of nZEB in practice, workshop "Qualified for nZEB" nZEB certification / specialization schemes and specific competences, demonstrations, mockup models, consultancy on ongoing projects provided. There was also a joined SMAFIN and nZEB Ready Workshop addressed to financial institutions and public authorities, as well as guided tours with the support from local partners.

SUPEUS Case Study, 9-12 December, Zagreb
The event was organized in cooperation with “Student association for promoting energy efficiency and consulting” – SUPEUS. SUPEUS is an interdisciplinary association of students whose work raises awareness of the importance of energy efficiency, sustainable solutions and the necessity of using renewable energy sources. The Supeus Case Study project was designed primarily for students from technical disciplines with the aim of promoting energy efficiency and connecting students with companies operating in this field. The Supeus Case Study event took place at technical faculties that have a spectrum of activities related to energy efficiency, i.e. Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Faculty of Civil Engineering, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.

01 December 2021, Varaždin, Croatia
The (road)show must go on - the next stop in Croatia was the city of Varaždin! The Croatian team and the NZEB mobile house MUZA were hosted by the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Zagreb. The students and their professors had the opportunity to attend lectures on NZEB, green and sustainable building. As the cherry on the cake, they could experience and learn about all these principles first hand - by exploring the NZEB mobile MUZA! During the second part of this #roadshow event, all other interested individuals and groups (general and professional public) were invited to visit us at MUZA! The (road)show must go on - the next stop in Croatia was the city of Varaždin! The Croatian team and the NZEB mobile house MUZA were hosted by the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Zagreb. The students and their professors had the opportunity to attend lectures on NZEB, green and sustainable building. As the cherry on the cake, they could experience and learn about all these principles first hand - by exploring the NZEB mobile MUZA! 24 – 28 November 2021, Trikala, Greece
The second roadshow in Greece focused on schools and historic buildings and their affordable renovation. Trikala is a city in the center of Greece with an old town and many historic buildings. It's the first municipality in Greece that has certified its staff as passive house designers, the first city to certify the renovation of public buildings, and the first to adapt the "Passive house" standard in all new public buildings. With the support of the municipality, various activities took place, including a gamification event for children, training courses for both designers and tradespersons, roundtable events with contractors of multifamily buildings, and a guided tour to schools , historic buildings and a house - all renovated according to the EnerPHit standard. MUZA was exhibited at the international trade fair SASO 2021 in Split (Croatia’s 2nd largest city). The star of the #NZEBweek, MUZA, was located inside the sports hall Spaladium Arena, gathering more participants, media and stakeholders’ support. The City of Koprivnica is a Croatian pioneer city in energy efficient neighborhoods (first passive multi-residential buildings built within the socially supported housing program), sustainable and innovative public procurement, sustainable urban mobility, etc. Thanks to the great collaboration with the City of Koprivnica, the university campus welcomed MUZA.
It was the arena where, on 3rd of November, regional energy agency REA Sjever and Croatia Green Building Council, #NZEBday took place welcoming professional public, citizens, and students. Combination of lectures and study tour (MUZA, energy retrofitted public buildings, electromobility) was focused specifically on the importance of education in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable construction. In Vodice, the NZEB week was organized in the framework of the 8th Congress of Croatian Builders in collaboration with the Croatian Association of Civil Engineers and Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers. Specific stakeholders from the national construction sector (civil engineers, material and systems producers, professional associations and public authorities) were engaged in activities such as demonstrations, interactive exhibitions and visits to the nZEB mobile house MUZA. Back to the continental part of Croatia, the Croatian nZEB Roadshow team joined forces with the ArhiBau 2021: Fair of Construction Culture and Sustainable Development, which took place in the Arena Zagreb sports hall in Zagreb. ArhiBau 2021 was the biggest construction fair in the region, organized by the Zagreb Society of Architects and involving all stakeholders in the construction sector - from buyers to suppliers, from engineers to contractors, from financiers to managers and insurers, from laymen to professionals, from the real sector and civil society to the institutional sector and public administration. The nZEB mobile house MUZA was placed in front of the sports hall Arena Zagreb and all activities of the NZEB week were organized in and around the MUZA. It included a product exhibition organized in open air in the city cener, displaying the latest products and services of companies as SIGA, YTONG Bulgaria, ATREA, Viessmann, Pichler, Meesenburg Bulgaria, D1.construction, Sofia Energy Agency SOFENA, Energy Agency of Plovdiv, NEDSTAR Ltd and Raykov Service Ltd, as well as the Municipality of Smolqn itself. The exhibition was combined with on-site and online training courses for both building professionals and non-specialists, and attracted an extensive media interest. A visit to a Passivhaus under construction in Friuli was the second one under the 1st Italian nZEB Days event. Professionals, tenants, tradespersons were engaged on the building site of a real nZEB/Passivhaus - details about airtightness, installation of external thermal insulation system, solution of thermal bridges on site will be explained and the urgent need of nZEB buildings will be emphasized.

Pilot event in Zagreb, Croatia, 16 June 2021
Innovative technologies and products of #MUZA showcased for the first time to producers and suppliers of buildings materials and systems, technology providers. As probably the most active on nZEB market taking into consideration their interest for quality in installing their products and systems, the producers and suppliers of building materials and systems have to be continuously involved. Their interest in participating in the roadshow is to promote their technologies and stay competitive on the market. Within the NZEB weeks activities such as organization of nZEB hours or live practical demonstrations made by producers and suppliers in local DIY shops will be organized.
Innovative technologies and products of #MUZA showcased for the first time to producers and suppliers of buildings materials and systems, technology providers. As probably the most active on nZEB market taking into consideration their interest for quality in installing their products and systems, the producers and suppliers of building materials and systems have to be continuously involved. Their interest in participating in the roadshow is to promote their technologies and stay competitive on the market. Within the NZEB weeks activities such as organization of nZEB hours or live practical demonstrations made by producers and suppliers in local DIY shops will be organized.
Continuous MUZA exhibition at TMNT, Zagreb, May - October 2021
During the period 18th May 2021 – 2nd October 2021, nZEB mobile house MUZA was located in the courtyard of TMNT in Zagreb. During this period, besides organized one nZEB day (1st event) and one nZEB week (2nd event), MUZA and Croatian team members were available for all other interested museum visitors, so-called continuous event. When possible, the continuous event took place between the specific NZEB week and specific NZEB day. In case of direct inquiry and expressed interest, mobile house MUZA was used on the “open doors” principle. Direct inquiry and expressed interested was coordinated with TMNT’s employers. Moreover, continuous event covered different activities with university students at UNIZAG GF. Activities with university students at UNIZAG GF were based on “learning by doing” principle.
